This place is not located in Hollywood. Actually, it is a nice 30-minute car ride away from Hollywood, into Pasadena. Believe me, though, this place is worth the trip if you love Peach Cobbler or Apple Cobbler.
I discovered this place about 3 years ago. I had gone a couple of times before I actually met both owners (the husband and the wife). He told me that he was from Mississippi, and I wasn't surprised, since his Peach Cobbler tasted very much like the kind my grandmother used to make- especially the crust (a lot of places don't know how to make good crust- this place does!) This place also sells Gumbo and Tea Cakes! (I had never heard of any place making Tea Cakes before- I had never had them before visiting my great-grandmother in Gloster, Mississippi years ago). The Tea Cakes at The Gourmet Cobbler Factory tasted similar to the ones I remember. They even have Tea Cakes in several flavors.
Getting back to the Cobblers, though, they are the absolute best of any that I've run across being sold anywhere. I love the Apple and the Peach. I haven't tried the Blackberry Cobbler yet.
It's been a while since I've been, so it's about time for me to make a "Cobbler Run" to Pasadena. The quality of the Cobblers makes The Gourmet Cobbler Factory the first recipient of Hollywood Eat's "Golden Roadtrip" designation. Please note: They are closed on Mondays.
