Mel's Drive-In, 1660 N. Highland Ave., Hollywood, CA 90028 (323)465-3111

Located on Highland Ave. just south of Hollywood Blvd (inside the old famous Max Factor building).

Mel's Drive-In is a popular chain of restaurants, and they have a really good and popular one in Hollywood. They serve hamburgers, sandwiches, salads, french fries, shakes, cokes, and other foods that you would expect in a diner. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

This is an old-fashioned diner, reminiscent of the kind of place seen in the movie, "American Graffiti". As a matter of fact, this place is a direct descendant of the diner seen in the film: the son of the original "Mel's Drive-In" in the movie decided to open Mel's around the state.

This location is cool. The staff is really friendly. If you are visiting Hollywood, this is a great place in the middle of downtown Hollywood, where you can do some great sightseeing after your meal.
